This is a tour of the rooms and areas of the house we have updated so far. This page is a work in progress, just like our house, so it will be updated as we finish new projects. I’ve included links to the projects along the way for these spaces, so browse around and say awhile!

Hallway Bathroom – In Progress!

Dining Room – Wall Color Benjamin Moore Iced Marble, Trim and Wainscoting Sherwin Williams Alabaster
Our dining room was a blank slate and started with cream colored walls and no furnishings. We painted, added crown molding, wainscoting, a new chandelier, and accessories. The table was a Craigslist Find. We love ourselves some Craigslist.

This is what it looked like before:
Shoe Closet – Wall Color Sherwin Williams Ancient Marble
We have two closets in our master bedroom. One walk in that holds all of our clothes, and then this little guy. At first glance in our bedroom, you might think, wow two walk ins, since you can technically walk in, but it isn’t very wide, so not conducive to storing clothes. But it is perfect for storing shoes. Lots and lots of shoes.
We added two Ikea shoe cabinets.

Then we spruced it up and added some accessories and a new rug.

This is what the shoe closet looked like before…dark green, and check out the little glimpse of the carpeted shelf there on the right. Ick. We ripped the carpet off the shelf and have big plans for that little cubby area. Stay tuned!
Half Bath – Paint Color Sherwin Williams Sea Salt
Our half bath was the first room in the house to receive a full makeover. It had what I affectionately called a “public restroom sink”, you know, the kind that is attached to the wall with all the plumbing exposed, wallpaper, and a dated light fixture. The new sink was another one of our Craigslist Finds. We ripped all of that out and have a much cleaner, more calming, and fresh space.

Entry – Wall Color Sherwin Williams Ramie, Trim and Door Sherwin Williams Alabaster
Our back yard overhaul was one of the biggest transformations we have had so far. The deck was in disrepair, there was a stagnant pool of water under the deck, the landscaping had become overgrown, and it basically all needed to be ripped out and replaced. So we did, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. It’s our own little private oasis.

This was the state of the patio right after we purchased the house:
Living Room - Paint Color Sherwin Williams Ramie
Our living room started out dark and dreary, but we removed a few trees and got a new sofa and chair to make a much lighter and brighter room.

We put up these free prints:

This here is our Shift Console:

This is the room right after we bought the house. See how dark it is? The tree removal really made a huge difference in the amount of light that comes in the room.
Also, don’t forget to check out our inspiration galleries! They include LOTS of home decor images submitted by readers like you! Browse by room type, room color and check out the gallery of painted and refinished furniture, or you can search by paint color, room type, blog name, or any combo of these. Make sure to check out the image descriptions – many include the name of the paint color and a link back to the owner’s blog where you can see more details about their rooms.
